Halfway through!

Cannot believe we are almost halfway through this experience. I never want it to end, Leon is definitely somewhere I will be coming back to, hopefully in the near future.

Friday was the best school day I’ve had so far, I’d been asked to teach a lesson on the UK and also write a song about it. I wouldn’t have a chance of doing this myself as I am lacking in musical talent! Luckily, this is my dad’s forte as before he became an ESL teacher he was a full time musician. So he helped me write the song and also recorded himself singing it and playing guitar. This was a huge success, I did this lesson with two classes today and the students absolutely loved it. By the end of both classes me and the students were stood up dancing and singing along, and even after the school day had finished I could hear students around school humming or singing it!

This was brilliant, however it is the only thing I’ve been asked to prepare so far; my tutors seem quite reluctant to give me a full lesson on anything but the UK! I have asked for more teaching practise next week so fingers crossed. I definitely want to get some ‘proper’ teaching practise in before my observation in the final week.

Friday finished with me and Liam being serenaded in the sun by a local busker which was absolutely brilliant!! He seemed a bit mad but what a character!

We went to Iain and Tracy’s for a belated pancake day/evening on Friday which was very fun.

Got to make the most of every day now as this month is going far too quickly!
