Who will I teach? The students at CSB ages 11 - 18
How will I do it? It has taken me a little time to find my style, to adjust to classroom teaching instead of Zoom based teaching. It also has taken me time to find the confidennce to have my own style that was different to that of the CSB teachers and that worked with the students.
How do I make it fun and engaging? Lots of different activities, lots of competition and games, lots of team working, Mentimeter, Bamboozle, lots of fun. The only thing that was more difficult to make fun and engaging was the hard grammar point of the passive.
What is different about a Spanish school versus a British school? Firstly, the noise level is much, much louder! No uniforms, informality and a closeness between the students and teachers.
Will they really trust me to teach Spanish kids alone? Yes they did!
Where will I live? The 2 different flats have taught me a few things. Location is so important, to be close ot school makes life easy, but nightlife might be lacking a bit. It's also important to see other people, the more people I have seen and shared with, the better.
How can I manage for a month with 1 suitcase? Yes!
What if I can't do it? I can!
What if I love it and don't want to come back? I love teaching and I'd love to try other cities and countries to experience other places in the same way.
What if I eat too many tapas and can't fit into my clothes? - I can still fit in my clothes...whoop whoop!
What if I carry on mixing French, Italian and Spanish, will anyone understand me? - My Spanish has been pretty good, but like any student of languages, I have areas i need to work on. Irregular verbs are my nemesis!
